মাধ্যমিক প্রস্তুতি: Tenses এবং Verbs-এর সম্পূর্ণ গাইড
১. VERBS (ক্রিয়া)
যে শব্দ দ্বারা কোনো কাজ করা, হওয়া বা থাকা বোঝায়, তাকে Verb বলে। মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার জন্য Verbs-এর সঠিক ফর্ম (Right forms of verbs) জানা অত্যন্ত জরুরি।
Types of Verbs (Verbs-এর প্রকারভেদ)
- Principal/Main Verbs: বাক্যের মূল কাজ বোঝায় (যেমন: go, eat, play)।
- Auxiliary/Helping Verbs: Main Verb-কে Tense বা অর্থ প্রকাশে সাহায্য করে (যেমন: am, is, are, was, were, have, has, had)।
- Modal Verbs: সম্ভাবনা, অনুমতি বা বাধ্যবাধকতা বোঝায় (যেমন: can, could, shall, should, will, would, may, might, must)। মনে রাখবে, Modal verb-এর পর সবসময় মূল verb-এর Present form (V1) বসে।
২. TENSE (কাল)
ক্রিয়ার কাল বা কাজ করার সময়কে Tense বলে। Tense প্রধানত ৩ প্রকার: Present, Past এবং Future। এদের প্রত্যেকটিকে আবার ৪ ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়।
1. Present Tense (বর্তমান কাল)

| Present Perfect | Sub + have/has + V3 + Obj | কাজটি এইমাত্র শেষ হয়েছে, কিন্তু ফল বর্তমান। (He has finished his work just now.) |
| Present Perfect Continuous | Sub + have/has + been + V(ing) + Obj + since/for | অতীত থেকে শুরু হয়ে বর্তমানেও চলছে। (It has been raining since morning.) |
2. Past Tense (অতীত কাল)

| Past Perfect | Sub + had + V3 + Obj | অতীতে দুটি কাজের মধ্যে যেটি আগে হয়েছিল। (The patient had died before the doctor came.) |
| Past Perfect Continuous | Sub + had + been + V(ing) + Obj + since/for | অতীতে কোনো কাজ দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে চলছিল। (I had been reading for two hours when he arrived.) |
3. Future Tense (ভবিষ্যৎ কাল)

| Future Perfect | Sub + shall/will + have + V3 + Obj | ভবিষ্যতে কোনো নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে কাজ শেষ হবে। (I shall have finished the task by next week.) |
৩. মাধ্যমিকে Right Forms of Verbs করার নিয়ম (Hints)
- বাক্যে always, daily, regularly, normally, generally, often, everyday থাকলে Simple Present Tense হয়।
- বাক্যে now, at present, at this moment থাকলে Present Continuous Tense হয়।
- বাক্যে recently, lately, just, just now, already, yet থাকলে Present Perfect Tense হয়।
- বাক্যে yesterday, ago, long since, last night/week/year থাকলে Simple Past Tense হয়।
- বাক্যে tomorrow, next week/year/month থাকলে Simple Future Tense হয়।
- Before-এর আগের অংশে Past Perfect এবং পরের অংশে Simple Past হয়। (We had reached the station before the train left.)
- After-এর আগের অংশে Simple Past এবং পরের অংশে Past Perfect হয়। (The train left after we had reached the station.)
৪. মাধ্যমিক স্টাইল Practice Set
Fill in the blanks with appropriate forms of verbs (Answers below):
Question 1: Last year we _____ (go) to Darjeeling. We _____ (stay) there for four days. It _____ (be) a wonderful experience.
Answer: went, stayed, was (যেহেতু ঘটনাটি অতীতের, তাই Simple Past Tense হয়েছে)
Question 2: By the time we _____ (reach) the station, the train _____ (leave).
Answer: reached, had left (অতীতে দুটি কাজের মধ্যে যেটি আগে হয়েছে সেটি Past Perfect, পরেরটি Simple Past)
Question 3: The students _____ (write) their exam now. The teacher _____ (watch) them carefully.
Answer: are writing, is watching ('now' থাকায় Present Continuous Tense হয়েছে)
Question 4: I _____ (read) this book since morning but I _____ (not finish) it yet.
Answer: have been reading, have not finished ('since' থাকায় Present Perfect Continuous, এবং 'yet' থাকায় Present Perfect)
